Take It Outside- Having your meeting in the same spot welcomes repetition. To ensure that you and your team get the most out of your meeting, shake up the routine and move it outdoors for some fresh air and ideas. (P.S. Make sure to have a back-up plan in case weather becomes an issue).
Provide Food- Studies show the effect that food has on our brain (short version: it makes us happy!).The great news is that it does not need to be incredibly expensive catered food to make people happy. Just put some thought into it and your meeting will instantly be taken to the next level!
Icebreaker- Not the typical exercises that make your attendees cringe. Instead, provide a themed crossword, or 1st grade problem solvers (trust us, it is harder than it sounds). It is a simple, efficient way to get everyone focused and get their mind off of what they were thinking of beforehand.
Problem-Solving Activity- Incorporate a problem-solving activity to your agenda for an opportunity to hear employee's input, let different departments collaborate, and let everyone feel heard! (For example, ask what is an obstacle that hinders you in your day to day work?).
Rate The Meeting- Feedback is important. Not only because different companies have different objectives, but also because employees are motivated by different things. Always ask for attendees to rate the meeting and welcome honest feedback so that your meetings are the most effective they can be.
